A great new way to reach Saadani is to drive the coast road from Dar es Salaam through Bagamoyo and up to the Wami River; the Southern boundary of the Park. From here, you can be taken by boat to our seasonal camp or simply to explore the river and its wonderful wildlife before continuing on to Tent With A View in an open game drive car. The road from Dar es Salaam takes approximately 2.5 hours to the river. In the dry season, the river is occasionally very low and we may have to wade across it and be taken by safari vehicle to the seasonal camp or a point which the boat can reach.
For those wishing to come with their own vehicle, we recommend only 4x4’s, although the road is vastly improved these days. Journey time approximately 4.5 hours from Dar es Salaam via Chalinze and Mandera. Approximately 7 hours from Arusha.
By Plane: flights take 15 minutes from Zanzibar and 30 minutes from Dar es Salaam into Saadani airstrip.
