Located on a beautiful Indian Ocean beach surrounded by the stunning bush of Saadani National Park, A Tent with a View offers a peaceful retreat from which to explore Tanzania's only coastal wildlife reserve.

We have ten luxury tents, eight of which are elegantly perched on stilts and two at beach level. All are private and well spaced along a pristine stretch of Indian Ocean beach.

Each room offers full en suite facilities and large balconies with hammocks overlooking the azure sea. Throughout the lodge, emphasis is on relaxation and appreciation of the naturalenvironment which we hope is reflected in the thoughtful design of the accommodation and restaurant bar.

Local materials have been used wherever possible, including timbers from beached dhows, and from cocronut palms felled by elephants. Lights, refrigeration, and water heating are all from solar power.

Each Tent has a Saadani theme and is individually designed.

The spacious restaurant and bar is also elevated on stilts overlooking the sea. The bar awaits you offering cold beers, cocktails or maybe an inviting gin & tonic before you settle down to your evening meal. Freshly caught seafood is a speciality and combined with an extensive wine list you are assured of a memorable dining experience.

Saadani is in the unique position of providing the opportunity to observe Africa's big game and bird life interacting with the sea.
Foot safaris combining the bush and the beach, birdwatching by canoe on the Mafue salt water creek and game drives are all available from the lodge, whilst a boat safari on the Wami River can be organised as part of a full day game drive.
