Passport Requirements
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival.
- You must have at least one blank page for entry stamps.
Visa Requirements
Most travelers require a visa to enter Tanzania.
Visa on Arrival
Available at major international airports, including Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.
Cost:
- USD 50 for most nationalities
- USD 100 for US passport holders (multiple-entry visa)
Payment is typically in USD (cash preferred). Notes must be undamaged and issued after 2009.
E-Visa (Recommended)

Yellow Fever Requirements
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required only if:
- You are arriving from a country with Yellow Fever risk, or
- You had transit longer than 12 hours in a risk country.
If traveling directly from Europe or North America, it is generally not required.
Zanzibar Travel Insurance (Mandatory)
All visitors entering Zanzibar must purchase mandatory inbound travel insurance from the
Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC), even if you already hold international travel insurance.
